10.09.2012 Workshop on Hedging Price Risk for Grain crops, September 5, 2012, Moscow, Russia
On September 5, 2012 NYSE Liffe, in cooperation with the Russian Grain Union, organised a workshop on the hedging of price risk for grain crops, sponsored by HANSA Commodity Brokers and Saxo Bank. The participants were first given an overview and outlook for the physical grains markets. Then, they learned about commodity derivatives and alternative products and their use in hedging grain prices. Finally, they watched a live demonstration of using a trading screen for hedging.

On December 7, 2011 the International Grain Forum “World grain market – prospects, challenges, risks, threats” will take place in Moscow, “The Renaissance Moscow Hotel 4*”. The Forum is held on the threshold of the 34 Session of the International Grains Council that this year is organized in Russia – the country which representative is the Chairman of the International Grains Council, and is the key event of the world grain market where 54 delegates of each IGC member country take part. 400 participants from 26 countries worldwide are expected to come. The IGF organizational committee includes the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. In accordance with the decision of the IGF organizational committee, organizational and technical provision of the event is held by the Russian Grain Union.

Representatives of the Russian Grain Union took part in annual MENA Grains Summit 2011,that was held on September 26-27 in Istanbul, Turkey. In the frameworks of the event's round tables there was the position of the Russian Grain Union expressed on issues concerning grain consumption trends, trajectories and new frontiers and the grain export market expansion.
